Transitions and Transfers

Broadening assignments, reclassification, promotion opportunities and more available in the USAR to officers in the Army National Guard.

Enlisted Soldiers and Officers currently assigned to the IRR may transfer into USAR (TPU or IMA) positions for career progression, promotion, reclassification, resumption of certain benefits and may be eligible for affiliation incentives.

Former officers and warrant officers may be re-appointed to get their career back on track.

Positions available worldwide. Many permit non-DMOS qualified Soldiers to transfer and retrain as needed. Direct transfer to Army Reserve available from National Guard depending on each state's transfer policy. 

TPU positions available worldwide. Many permit non-DMOS or non-AOC qualified Soldiers to transfer and retrain as needed.
